Dusky moorhen
I love these guys. I love their tentative walk. I love their big feet. How do they walk and not step on their toes?

these look similar to our Mud Hens, called American Coots, except their beaks are white and feet are irredescent green, and they have this red dot thingey in centre of their head!!

We have coots overe here that sound like that; dusky black with a white shield over the beak? We also have swamp hens which are like the moorhen, only larger and with purpleish feathers.
